COMMUNICATION
Good and effective communication among the officers, members and friends of Westminster is an important part of the life of the church. At Westminster we have several means in place that help assure efficient distribution of information.
- The Bulletin - The church bulletin serves several communication functions. Its primary purpose is to provide the Order of Worship to all who attend the morning worship service, and for that reason it is published and distributed weekly. But, the bulletin communicates much more than the order of worship. It also contains the Sermon Outline, a weekly prayer list, a list of the small group meetings and other meetings and events that are scheduled for the week, and announcements and news items that are of particular interest to the church family.
- The "Yellow Pages" - The Yellow Pages is a booklet that contains the contact information for the church family. Addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for everyone who is a regular attender at Westminster. The Yellow Pages gets used a lot by Westminster folks, both for church business and fellowship.
- The Prayer Chains - Westminster folks uphold one another and share prayer requests through our Prayer Chains. The Phone Prayer Chain was established early on in the Church's history by the Women In The Church to provide prayer support for urgent needs in the congregation. With the advent of the Internet, this ministry was expanded to inform the congregation via e-mail as well as phone. Not only are prayer requests shared but announcements that need to be made on a timely basis are also distributed through this venue.
- The Website - The Westminster website (www.wpcpca.org) is a tool that serves both some of the local communication needs of the church, and also provides a way to communicate with folks who are potential visitors from out of town, and local folks that want to learn more about Westminster. It has also served as a communication tool for the needs of the Southwest Presbytery on occasion.
