Fanning the Flame
Westminster Presbyterian Church has contracted with the Embers to a Flame and Fanning the Flame Ministry of Briarwood Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, AL, for church revitilization coaching. Fanning the Flame (FTF) is a fourteen-month coaching ministry built upon the ten strategies of biblical church health taught in the Embers to a Flame Conference. FTF is not a "program," it is a commitment by a church’s leadership to continually seek to be a more healthy church. This is a lifelong journey. It is NOT something we can engage in for a season confident that we have arrived. It is a marathon, not a sprint.
Below are relevant documents and progress updates for the purpose of keeping WPC members and friends up to date with FTF Servant Team activities.

|May 2016||THE DIARY OF LAMONT BEASLEY - This document is the result of the FTF Servant Team's visioning exercise. It is in the form of a series of fictional diary entries by the father of a family who recently moved to Alamogordo and were lead to check out WPC. It is intended to show what could become of WPC in five years if its members faithfully pursue this ongoing revitilizing effort.||Adobe PDF|

|June 2017||Final FTF Administrator's Report Even though there's a lot there, it doesn't cover every(!) thing that the FTF Team has done over the last 14 months.* So... ...To fill you in on the rest of the things you need to know, there is a box of materials (labeled Fanning the Flame Resources) in the church library. You'll find manuals, notes, readings, books, & CDs--essentially most all the materials the Team has used to lay the groundwork for the Fanning the Flame process at Westminster. Please feel free to read through any or all of those materials, they explain a lot!! AND... they're for everyone to know about! To top it off, there is lots of good spiritual help available there for the whole congregation :-) Take some time to read through them--you'll be blessed & encouraged! Just please don't remove any of them from the church Library. Once the books & CD set have been processed, those will be ready to check out & read/listen to at your leisure. (*NOTE: Two things are not in the box: The Communications Manual and the Crisis Planning Manual--those are in the hands of the Session. Please check with Fred or Shelby to learn more.)||Adobe PDF|
Prayer is vital for your church's health. Here is the Armor Bearer handout recently published as a bulletin insert. It includes a daily schedule of suggested Scripture readings and prayers for church leaders.
